Some history of band.
Steve has been playing bass since the early 80’s. Steve’s favorite
basses are Gibson and his favorite Amp is a 59 Fender Bassman.
Playing in the style of Roger Glover and John Paul Jones with bands
such as Gin Mill, Profile and Tantalize with guitarist (the late)
Jimmy Faulkner and also Shade Tree, Steve has been writing music
since adolescence. Steve is one of the founding members of
Badly Bent. He is also a devoted family man with a wife, two children
and, three grandchildren.
Married 32 years with two children and 3 granddaughters
45 years plus experience playing music heavily influenced by Southern
Rock and Blues. Jim and (his little brother) blues maestro
Steve Thorpe, were taught to play by their Mom. Too many bands
and years to remember but Jim’s resume is impressive and includes
sharing the stage with Exile and jamming on stage with his favorite
player. Little brother Steve
Married 34 years 2 children 4 grandchildren and 4 step grandchildren.
Bobby’s favorite title is papaw. He learned to play at the ripe old age
of 11 after his Dad made a deal with him. If he learned to play the
House of the Rising Sun his Dad would buy him a guitar at
Western Auto. With friend Paul Chaney Bobby started a band Called
Shade Tree where Bobby first played with Steve Young. Bobby then
played with keyboardist Pat Williams a former band mate of
Billy Ray Cyres. Steve Young then asked Bobby to join Badly Bent
which he readily agreed. Bobby’s favorite gear includes Takamine,
Fender, Peavey, Vox, Les Paul and, several variations of the above
mentioned.
